AbstractGeographic variation of 23 mensural and meristic characteristics is examined for populations of Cottus klamathensis from throughout its range. Three geographically isolated populations can be separated by traditional taxonomic techniques and are found to be morphologically different by all statistical tests used. We give new status to the Pit R. form and describe the lower Klamath R. drainage form as a new subspecies.
