CWS building

The Watershed Sciences Building is located at 425 La Rue Road – near the south entrance to the Davis campus, on the corner of South La Rue Road and California Avenue. For those familiar with the campus, it is the new two-story building just south of Academic Surge. The Center for Watershed Sciences is located on the first floor of the building. The Center's administrative offices, the Tahoe Environmental Research Center office and the Conference Room are located in the glassed-in area to the left off the entryway.

Directions

Directions to UC Davis: Driving east on Interstate 80 from the San Francisco Bay Area or driving west on I-80 from Sacramento, take the UC Davis exit. If traveling west bound, turn right onto Old Davis Road. If traveling east bound, turn left onto Old Davis Road.

Directions to the Watershed Center: Just after passing the Information Kiosk on Old Davis Road, turn left onto California Avenue (i.e., 2nd exit in roundabout). Proceed about 100 yards across a small stone bridge. Immediately past the bridge, turn left onto La Rue Road. Watershed Sciences is the two-story building immediately to your right after making the turn.

Parking

Visitor Parking:  Unfortunately, the lot immediately next to the building is not a Visitor lot.  But there is almost always space available in Visitor Lot 47 (VP 47), about 200 yards west on La Rue Road.  Another option is the South Entry Parking Structure and Visitor Lot 1 (VP 1), just south of the Mondavi Center.  (Go back to Old Davis Road; make a left turn (i.e., 2nd exit in roundabout), then make a right on Beau Vine Lane.)

Alternatively, you may visit the UC Davis interactive buliding & parking map, where there is a pin placed for our building; in the left panel next to "Campus Parking" click on "Click Here To View" for visitor lot pins.

Parking Permits: A valid UC Davis permit is required to park on campus. As of January 2021, Transportation Services implemented changes to our parking operations to not only modernize parking demand on campus but help us to get closer to our sustainability goalsTo pay for parking, use the AggiePark via the AMP Park app, a pay-by-phone parking app which allows drivers to pay for parking from their phone. Parking meters are also available to any motor vehicle for the time purchased by coin, not to exceed the length of time posted for the area. Meter feeding is prohibited.

If you are driving a vehicle with state or federal plates ("E" plates, EXEMPT plates), you can park free in any Visitor, "A," or "C" lot – but please avoid restricted areas, such as loading zones, one-hour limit, medical patient parking, dean/vice-chancellor spaces and parking meters.
