Bio

John M. Eadie, Ph.D. is a University Distinguished Professor emeritus and the Dennis G. Raveling Endowed Chair emeritus in the Department of Wildlife, Fish & Conservation Biology at the University of California, Davis.  He received his B.S. from the University of Western Ontario, M.S. from Queen’s University and Ph.D. from the University of British Columbia.  His program focuses on bridging fundamental behavioral and population ecology with the conservation of waterfowl and wetlands. He and his students have studied multiple species of birds at study sites ranging from Alaska to Argentina.  His current research focuses on the parental care and reproductive strategies in precocial birds, evaluating drivers of the population dynamics of wetland birds, and using stateof-the-art agent-based models to link population and ecological concepts to wildlife conservation. He has published over 140 journal papers and book chapters, received over $8.5M in research funding, supervised 62 graduate students and 9 post-doctoral fellows, received numerous research and teaching awards at the university, state and national level, and is a Fellow of the American Society of Ornithologists.
