Position Title

Bio

I joined CWS as a student assistant in 2021 and graduated in 2024 with a bachelor’s degree in Evolution, Ecology, and Biodiversity. Now, as a junior specialist, I lead ongoing efforts in the field to monitor and understand widespread thiamine deficiency in California Chinook and Steelhead. As part of this research, I also help facilitate Spinning Salmon in the Classroom, a citizen science program that has high school students contribute data on thiamine deficiency in juvenile Chinook salmon. Away from the field, I work with stable isotopes in Chinook salmon tissues like scales and eye lenses to reconstruct their dietary life histories.
