Bio

I am interested in the conservation and restoration of habitat for native California fishes, namely salmon. My thesis research compares rearing success of juvenile Chinook salmon across a historic slough, leveed slough, and duck club pond in Suisun Marsh. The goals of this research are to better understand what environmental factors (food, water quality, temperature) drive differences in success across these varied habitat types and use this information to inform better management and conservation of salmon in the SF Estuary. Aside from this research, I work on two fisheries monitoring projects with the Center for Watershed Sciences assessing the long-term trends of fish populations in the North Delta and Suisun Marsh.
