Bio
Soffia Ramsey is a Junior Specialist at the Center for Watershed Sciences, where she works with Drs. Rachel Johnson and Carson Jeffres on research investigating Chinook salmon diet and migratory patterns. Her work supports CWS efforts to improve conservation practices and watershed management throughout California’s waterways.
 
Soffia received a B.S. in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from UC Irvine in 2024, and brings experience from the Eastern Sierra Nevada and Lake Tahoe regions researching zooplankton community ecology, aquatic invasive species, and limnology. She is broadly interested in how freshwater communities respond to climate and human influences and strives to bridge the gap between scientific research, public understanding, and policy/management practices through communication and outreach.
