
Position Title
Assistant Research Specialist
Sydney is an Assistant Specialist working with Drs. Carson Jeffres and Rachel Johnson. Her work involves investigating floodplain food web ecology, juvenile Chinook Salmon, and movement ecology. She primarily works with zooplankton community, fish diet, and fish movement data to ascertain habitat and resource use by fishes within riverine and floodplain habitats.
Prior to this position, Sydney got her Bachelor of Science degree in marine biology from the University of North Carolina Wilmington and her Master of Science from the Pennsylvania State University where she did research on gut content identification using DNA barcoding and stable isotope work on invasive species.
