The UC Davis Arboretum waterway is under reconstruction to improve flow and water quality. As part of this effort, we have been evaluating the fish community composition and biomass of Arboretum waters. We are particularly interested in the effect of large ecosystem engineers, like carp, on water quality. This research involves working with the Arboretum managers to sample, identify and measure the fish population as they redevelop the habitat.
