Multiple agencies in the Bay Area conduct surveys in the SFE and produce data sets that differ slightly and can be difficult to find, although they are publicly available. There is high value in larger data sets of combined surveys because individual surveys cannot realistically cover every parameter and square inch of an area as expansive as the SFE. This data visualizer has the potential to support projects involving patterns in fish ecology and global trends like drought and climate change, as well as influence conservation strategy.
