A Central Valley farming town copes with toxic tap water
Fusion (Dec. 9, 2013) — A new national cable TV news magazine features Center director Jay Lund in a story about nitrate contamination of drinking water supplies in San Joaquin Valley farm towns. A major 2012 study led by Lund and the Center's Thomas Harter found that one in 10 people living in the Valley’s Tulare Lake Basin and coastal Salinas Valley is at risk of exposure to harmful levels of nitrate in their drinking water.
