Salmon spawning in Putah Creek
The Davis Enterprise (Dec. 13, 2013) — Peter Moyle says the return of Chinook salmon to Putah Creek signifies the stream's recovery as a habitat for native fishes. The Putah Creek Council, a group of residents dedicated to protecting flows for native fish, led a successful lawsuit against the Solano County Water Agency to release more water from Berryessa reservoir and the Putah Creek Diversion Dam to attract salmon upstream. Moyle is a fish biologist and associate director of the Center for Watershed Sciences at UC Davis.
