Project Description
UC Davis and partners are researching the potential of wetland management strategies to provide multiple benefits to native fish, waterfowl, and people in Suisun Marsh, one of the largest tidal wetlands in the US. The study evaluates the food web benefit of alternate wetland management strategies to juvenile Chinook salmon. To do this, they are monitoring salmon growth in response to plankton and invertebrate food production, water quality and water flows. We are also engaging with managers in the region to explore if alternate strategies to restoration can benefit stakeholders and the environment.
