New research shows that dams are ineffective for cold-water conservation and California's regulated streams fail cold-water ecosystems, reports a new study by CWS researchers Drs. Ann Willis, Ryan Peek, and Andrew Rypel. The thermal regimes of 77 California stream sites were modeled evaluate variation nested within each stream class. Brandi Goss is a Master's Student under Dr. Robert Lusardi in the Center for Watershed Sciences at UC Davis. On July 26th, 2020, the PSIPW recognized five scientists, researchers, and innovators for their work in addressing global water scarcity, including Jay Lund in the Water Management & Protection category. May, chancellor of the University of California, Davis, and Jay Lund, distinguished professor of civil and environmental engineering and director of the university’s Center for Watershed Sciences, have been elected to the National Academy of Engineering, the academy announced today (Feb. 7).
